Deirdre is a board certified naturopathic doctor with the American Association of Naturopathic Medicine (AANM), and holds two masters degrees: one in holistic nutrition and the other in herbal medicine. She is a certified Sports Nutritionist through the International Society of Sports Nutritionists (CISSN), and has earned the national title of Certified Nutrition Consultant from the American Association of Nutrition Consultants (AANC).
Deirdre is a certified health and wellness coach through Wellcoaches Corporation, which is partnered with the highly prestigious American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). She holds a PhD in Holistic Nutrition from Clayton College in addition to several other certifications in Functional medicine, blood biochemistry, cleansing and detoxification.

Today, she is an internationally well-known author, speaker and holistic health expert whose work is based on using clinical strength foods and nutrients to help balance client’s bodies so they can address root causes of sickness and naturally come back to balance. Why Am I So Passionate About Helping People with Fibromyalgia?
Fibromyalgia sufferers are often misunderstood, misdiagnosed, misinformed, and misled. They are also often over-medicated and under-nourished caught in the revolving door of today’s healthcare system with no place to turn for true solutions to address the underlying cause. The healthcare system is doing its best but there is no one-pill to cure Fibromyalgia syndrome, as the symptoms are as varied as the millions of people that suffer from this debilitating condition.
I have a personal story about helping a close friend recover from Fibromyalgia before the syndrome was widely known. At the time, I was a “health nut” and deeply into exercise, nutrition and personal development. For six months, I coached and encouraged my friend towards improving her diet, nutrition, life style, and attitude to life. Today we would call this a Holistic Health approach and as evidenced by my health and wellness education, continuing through to a PhD in Holistic Nutrition, this has indeed become my life.
Over the years, I have encountered numerous Fibromyalgia sufferers who share many of the symptoms, conditions and attitudes I faced with my friend all those years ago. The unrelenting pain, headaches, brain fog, a tendency to put on excess weight, need I go on; if you, or a loved one, are suffering from Fibromyalgia, then you know what I am talking about.
As I began my education and my clinical training, first as an herbalist, then as a naturopath, and now nutritionist, the subject of fibromyalgia syndrome kept presenting itself. None of this seemed to me to be very fair, why one person, or this entire group of fibromyalgia sufferers, should have to endure so much. I wanted to do something about it so I began to take a keener interest in this condition, which led me into doing extensive research about fibromyalgia syndrome, and my research never ceases.
